I got curious about AR/VR and started sharing small prototypes and ideas online. Aryel - an Italian AR marketing platform - reached out and asked me to build WebAR experiences and a weekly stream of videos showing how AR can work in real campaigns.
I focused on real use cases. The goal was clarity: quick setups, clear value, easy hand-off to a marketing team. I’d take a retail or hospitality scenario and show the full flow - from creating the AR experience to actually interacting with it.
On the technical side, I built and documented examples that brands could reuse:
Custom UI that fit their visual language
AR launched from apps or websites
3D ads embedded directly on pages
Triggers that open AR from location, packaging/QR, and image targets
Along the way, Karen X. Cheng’s team contacted me to support AR concepts for campaigns with McDonald’s, Adobe, and Virgin Voyages. And Aryel kept the collaboration going because the work was useful - content that explained the “why,” prototypes that showed the “how".
As smart glasses go mainstream, AR stops being a novelty and turns into daily UX. The camera becomes a universal entry point - on phones now, on wearables next.
